Go Plus! - A totally different Experience.

It started with everyone gathering in the huddle room. All strangers around me, I knew none, no one knew me either. I was wondering how I would gel with these people coming from different walks of life. Some of them came in groups. High levels of enthusiasm was floating around. We then stared our journey to the resort. Ravish, a highly energetic fellow stated playing "Antyakshari" with the front bench girls. I must quote his extreme knowledge of Hindi songs. It was more entertaining to us at the back seat. We were accompanied by a group of freshly graduated students who were very much excited about the entire trip.

After a two and a half hour tiresome journey in a small bus, we landed at the resort. The resort was adjacent to the main road with numerous coconut trees and myriad monkeys. The milieu was fresh and exhilarating, away from the crowd. Our encounter with fresh breeze was inexplicable. Spicy snacks and hot tea was served along with a warm welcome. We were given twin sharing rooms with all the comforts - AC, TV, hot water, luxury cots. We met our instructor Super Sandy shortly after that. After having a brief introduction session, we proceeded for dinner. Dinner was sumptuous and was served along with the desserts. After having a meal, we all proceeded to the games arena. Everyone started playing games of their choice and started to socialize. We played Foosball and it was extreme fun - I personally enjoyed a lot - probably because we were winning every time! We played various games - caroms, TT, Foosball and slept off late at around 2:00AM. I couldn't get sound sleep probably because of the new place.

Next morning we had our introductions again. We played numerous games that illustrated various values that Oracle follows. It was a totally different experience altogether. I got a chance to know myself. Conquer myself - fears, strengths, apprehension, evaluate my way of thinking. We learnt a lesson that loyalty is the most important factor in any business or personal relationship. People invest confidence in you only when you are loyal and abide by your word. We also learnt that we should stick together as a team to be successful. We should be integrated in though and action. We should listen to the leader and feel responsible for our actions, rather than blaming the leader if something falls apart. Also in a business setup, communication plays an important role. A message that is not well-communicated to the team leads to a complete disaster. We should have a sound communication amongst ourselves as well as with other teams that are dependent of us. We should always be fair, we should not indulge in plagiarism. Also if an uncomfortable situation arises, play safe and be fair. We should also follow the business Ethics or etiquette. We should be professional in our actions and thoughts. We should also thrive to innovate and think out-of-the-box. When someone is dealing with a customer, he should feel extremely responsible and see to it that customer is satisfied. We should live up to the expectations of our customers. Our work/product should demonstrate quality. We went for rappelling, an adventurous sport early next morning to a nearby rocky place. Everyone must experience the adrenalin pump when you stand at the verge of the rock, at least once in a life time. The treasure hunt that we played at the end of the day was very much entertaining. Rummaging through bushes and grass to find clues in the dark using torches was fun. Our team finally won it though. “Dum-Sharats” was fun too. All the games we played taught us a lesson, if rightly taken.

All in all, here are the values of Oracle. In fact these should be followed by everyone to be successful in life/work. Integrity, Mutual respect, communication, fairness, team work, Innovation, customer satisfaction, Ethics and Quality. It was very much fun to know and interact with strangers. We played games together and known each other personally. New contacts and connections were built. So many different people and as many different personalities. The skit we did at the end, I must say, we cracked it. We came out with an innovative idea. We were strong and clear in communication it to the masses. I not only explored others, but myself too. I played a role of a leader, a teammate, I churned out ideas, I demanded people, I bossed over them, sometimes listened to them, worked under stress and many more. Now I'm a changed individual! With many more responsibilities and hope to grow up in this world. It's time to act now! It's time to put all these things into practice. I'm sure anyone will come out with flying colors if the above values are followed strictly.
