The Professor of righteousness

It was 6th of January of the New Year, 2009.

I’m not excited about PS-II anymore as I’ve been in this business for about a semester now. It was New Year’s Eve and hence celebrated with parents at Hyderabad and landed back in Bangalore with a hope and wish to learn more and new in this New Year. Everything started again, like a sequel to an action movie. Rushed to BITS PDC and got registered for the II semester of PS-II. Was little disappointed as my previous instructor, with whom we had a good rapport has left to Germany. At the same time was apprehensive about the new professor, after having learnt that it was A N Pant, got my tensions multiplied! Prof. A N Pant! Everyone knows him as a strict disciplinarian and as I have never been closely associated with him, had to follow others in believing that he really is a martinet. He spoke like a usual PS faculty of threatening students on the very first day about the Grades. Everything was fine; he seemed to me like a cool man.

Days passed. I always believed in punctuality and being sincere to what ever I took up, which made my manager speak a bit high about me in front of the professor - which was soothing for his ears. He started showering faith and we were a bit special to him compared to his remaining 28 students. Whenever he told us that he likes us more than his other students, we used to feel ecstatic and wanted to do everything possible to gain his confidence and never let him down. We’ve always been faithful to him as we were to our parents. We regarded him with reverence and worshipped his good words. He spoke about building up good personality and traits that make one attain the greatest heights of success. He taught us about the importance of character and passed us his noble thoughts about the four pillars.

It was an unfortunate day that I had been to Hyderabad on a weekend and was returning back to Bangalore on a Monday morning, when my train got delayed by 2hrs. I did not inform my professor about my going late to office that day. Usually affable professor, showered rage and I realized how hard it would be for someone to digest the fact, that someone special, whom you trust, has now backstabbed you, grabbed your confidence in him and crushed the good will. I felt guilty and could not look straight into his eyes. Time passed and he regained the confidence and faith in us. Professor helped me in many ways and conducted the PS-II program in the spirit in which it has to be conducted.

Now, although it’s hard to part and go away, its time to implement the things learnt from the professor and put them into action. I’m highly grateful to him for giving me superb guidance in just 6 months time and making me a man out of a boy. My venerations towards him are far beyond words and I would never forget such a professor who walked into my life and lit up a candle of faith and good behavior and walked away. As long as I live, I would never forget my professor who has taught me lessons beyond what text books could capture. His principles & his ideals are worth carrying forward. Jai Ho!

My Jolly Trip

It all started on a fine day, when abhi came up with an idea of a trip. I don't know how we got that idea of visiting such a consecrated place like Tirupathi. We set on a trip in an innova after having a lot of discussions among ourselves. We were 6 in all and enjoyed the trip to the fullest.

Strated at around 9 PM in the night. started picking up everyone from their places and it was at this point where we came across a flock of crows saying bye bye to abhi. :) Started the journey and everyone wanted to listen to some ghost story (when going on a trip to a sacred place :P), so i started off with Gandhi-137, bitsian ghost story. Every one listened to it as if they were listening to it for the very first time.

The adventure of taking the steps to the hill-top of tirupathi was amazing. Counting the number of steps and having mangoes with chilli powder, taking breaks after every 100/200 steps. I can really never forget that in my life.

Then we were into the full jolly mood and started giving nick names to everyone it was at this point that swathi became RUCHI and rohit became ROHI/RUHI. :P Another interesting candidate, sucharitha, who is actually a silent thriller, was named SUCHI. And I became KEECHA. RUCHI slipped into a gutter while washing her face and escaped with just a scratch.

We visited Tirupathi, Sri kala hasthi, Tala Kona water falls, Vellore Golden Temple and started back to Bangalore. Played so many games on our way back, one of which was invented by me. :)
I can never forget the tala kona water falls where we got drenched under the elevated water falls. It was a great delight to see picturescue waterfall in talakona forest amidst numerous monkeys.

All in all it was very very jocund trip and I can never forget the joy and mirth we had during the trip, for the rest of my life. Thanks to rohit and abhi for taking the initiative for the whole event and for giving us the sweet memories to cherish.

Trip to Pilani

Recently I set out on a trip to pilani, i would rather call it a hunt for a job. Though it did not end up successfully, but i met my friends and altogether it was a fun trip to be remembered for ever for me. On the very first day, i was a little tensed and on the top of it had a PPT at early morning 6:30AM, followed by APT. Its winter in pilani and it was freezing out side. Some how attended the APT and PPT and then had breakfast from IC. Immediately had to attend another APT and PPT of another IT major, as they claim. There ended my 1st day, checking the notice boards in anticipation. Then after that hardly had any companies and i decided to enjoy my stay. Went for crac sessions and treated all the juniors, who were ecstatic seeing me after a long time. I felt so happy looking at the CrAC juniors and their affection towards me.

Met the real dude and a matured guy, but still a kid, Gautam and had loads of fun. Met the oldest person of the wing, Budda. It was so fun and a happy moment to see Dexter with long hair and funky spectacles. Rishi, another AOE freak, now added a mumbaikar to his GFs list and hes in search of some thing else along with the job. It was really really happy a moment to see everyone once again together. I did not feel like coming back at all, but had to come back!
Met Utsav, another amazing creature on this earth, whom i feel is the real genius and a great writer and a speaker apart from me. :P Susheel as usual busy with gals..umm umm..ummm :D I'm happy for meeting my one and only great friend, siva and spend time with him.

Though my trip did not end on a positive note, but it was a real amazing and fun trip. Just hoping for the best things to happen forth in my life. One happy thing in this whole incident is getting shortlisted for BAIN from among 450 students which pumps confidence in me, that i'm worth some thing ;)
