CrAC the show!!

After witnessing all the plots and plans from the corner of the eye, I decided one day to keep away, at least one arm distance, from that group and hence remained passive for quite a long time. All the days are not alike; Days passed and calendar showed the year 2007. It was Ist semester and I felt some thing refreshing and new in there. I started becoming active and started to socialize.

Ramani was the coordinator for that semester. I can’t define her enthu in words. She is the most energetic and thrill candidate. :P Actually I should say, she is the crowd-pulling element, and as expected, crowds attended auditions and got into the club. The juniors who got into the club that sem were even more energetic and were ready to do anything for the club. I got remembered of Rasam’s days seriously!! I used to attend the work sessions rarely as I got the bagde of a senior core member: P.

Juniors are really lovable and I enjoyed cracking PJs with them. A multifaceted junior, whom I encountered, was Mani, better known as thadi. Always ready to work. I was shocked to see him in so many clubs and depts. Next comes, Bhargava, (konchem CrAC veediki), who rarely used to come for work, but a full comedy packed character. I should say he is a PJ king. I enjoyed each and every PJ he cracked. Then comes THE fundoo, muthyalu, cracks acads like anything and also a very hard worker in the club. A very plain hearted and ready to help others. How can I forget the maida days, when we worked together for OASIS 2k7? Pitani, another hard core member of the club, 100% dedicated and committed and very good at sketching. Next on the hot list is Hima Kiran, who is very very hard working and a dedicated clubber. You can call him up any time of the day/night and he is there to help you. It was really fun working with these juniors and many others, whom I can never forget in my life!! I remember these names and please forgive me for not writing more than a word:

Nikhilesh – Creative

Teja(A4) – Hard worker

Praharshit – Dedicated

Abhignan – Doctor

Nanda gopal – Comedy

Rahul – pani donga

Nikhil – joker
PRS- Creative mind
Padi- hard worker
Chiboli- comedy character
Junaid- short and funny

Santosh – silence tho picheskistha

Phani Teja- B2
Aasheesh- kolli

Ojasvitha- Danced on her bday

Forgive me if I had forgotten anyone in this list. But CrAC as whole and the memories you have given me will always remain in my heart. Always remember United we stand and divided we fall (Ramani’s favorite quote: P). I can never forget Oasis- 2k7, the events and the SKY booth. Hey forgot to mention, myself and Himki won 2nd prize for our Fish kite. :D

It was really fun working and making people work for Oasis-2k7. J

IQ test

Recently i was deleting my unwanted/spam mails and stopped at an interesting mail, which was about an IQ test. I took the test and finally this is what the computer awarded me!! :P

Inspired Inventor

Your IQ Score is: 127 (Superior)

You have an unusually strong balance between verbal and mathematical skills combined with a strength in the visual realm. Your most enduring talent, however, is that your idea center never shuts down. That's what makes you an Inspired Inventor.

You come up with insights that surprise even yourself, and that's because you might not always be aware when your brain is working on the next great idea. Most of the time, Inspired Inventors such as yourself have a plan brewing in their heads — even if they don't know it at the time. You are particularly adept at brainstorming, and coming up with multiple solutions for any problem because your brain never switches into the "off" position. You're like Sir Isaac Newton in this way — even commonplace events like an apple falling from a tree can be worked into the ever-present concepts that are formulating in your mind. This is the reason people flock to you for fresh ideas, advice, and insight. Your keen ability to process new information, makes you an indispensable team thinker. If, for example, you and your friends were stranded on a desert island, you would be able to figure out how to live in an unfamiliar landscape. Despite the newness of the situation, you would be in your element, generating ideas and potential solutions.

You have a unique way of solving problems. So trust yourself, and take every chance you can to share your insightful ideas with others.

Test scores are estimates of the attribute measured by the test. The accuracy of test scores depends on numerous factors, such as the following:

Feelings about being tested
Familiarity with standard English
Cultural differences
Conditions of the testing setting
Mental restrictions
Energy Level

When there is no more registration on the registration day: 1st August

I usually reach Pilani 2 days before the registration date, so that I can relax for some time, make my timetable and also can clean and make my room up before I go for registration.

It’s so nice to see one by one coming from home, back to Pilani with loads of luggage and late at night, exhausted !!:P Its after a more than 50-day vacation, that we get to see each other and express the affection and express to each other how badly we missed each other. L

But this time is entirely different; there is no registration for me and no friends around. Everything is a big void all around. I am living in a black hole, where I can see none and none can see me. It’s so much pain to know that others like juniors and my batch mates are going to campus, the place of merry making and happy living. Here I am working all the day in front of the computer without any entertainment: just like a sage, away from all worldly pleasures. Is this life? Is it really necessary to lead a life like this with out friends and with out having fun all the time? The only thing which makes me happy is the payment, which I get after every hectic month. I buy so many things like clothes, gadgets but I can’t buy friends, how much ever money I pay. L

I am lying in a deep dark pit, away from friends; hoping for a ray of light to enter my life and light up the entire space around and bring all the happiness and joy back. But it takes some time, says my inner mind. L Let’s wait and see what god has in his store for me?

It’s that only weekends I am free while busy all the week, but when I was at Pilani. I was a free bird, used to fly to what ever place I wished and enjoyed up to the brim. I had the luxury of gussing classes and sleeping for hours together. Watching movies late at night was my hobby, but what happened now? What happened to my freedom? Some one has grabbed me and put me in a cage, giving me everything except happiness and satisfaction. Who’s this some one? Who’s he to take away my life and freedom from me? May be this is what is called as professional world!! Exchanging brains for money!! L

I know I can’t regain the Pilani-days ever in my life!! Hoping for a change in life!!

My Indelible Memories @ CrAC!!!! (Back to 2004 AD)

Those were the Best days of my life!! Those were the days when I stepped into BITS, Pilani as a 1st year student, with innocent looks and eyes full of fear and apprehensions.

I heard about a club which is closest to my interests and unknowingly went for auditions. After the auditions, I got into CrAC- Creative Activities Club!! And that was the golden, in fact if there is any other metal more precious than that, like platinum or even precious metal, and then I would call this Academic year, that precious to me. It was that this year (2004-2005) introduced me to a great number of Cracsters who taught me so many new things in life, in fact showed me how to live life King-Size!! I am really in debt to those seniors and this is my tribute to them!!

Let me start with auditions: I was very afraid of the word-“seniors” for some people who belonged to this category have ragged me previously in my bhawan!! I stepped into THE ROOM No. 2204 for the first time on Saturday at 3:00PM (if I remember the correct time and I don’t remember the date). I was welcomed by so many “seniors” who called themselves Cracsters (like lobsters!! Lolz, This is what I thought when I heard this word for the first time). The first one to start speaking was RASAM (this word might look like some south Indian dish: P), a very enthusiastic girl and her enthu levels almost touched the sky always. A very high spirited and it would be better if I call her an ALL-ROUNDER, for she was in almost all the fields, leading and co-coordinating!!J

If I recollect some names of people who were present during my auditions,

  1. rasam
  2. chary
  3. abhishek
  4. TejB
  5. sneha
  6. Vicky
  7. surbhi
  8. sravani
  9. chaps
  10. jyothi
  11. saathvika
  12. And some bong girl... Sorry I don’t remember her nameL, who taught me for the first time how to use an ATM card... J

I was already tensed and they asked me to draw the portrait of abhishek on the black board!! I did that, but the portrait turned out to be like some one else but something in it resembled abhishek. And I was into the club. There started my journey!!

Some days passed and we were made to work on the posters and other things for the coming OASIS, which was completely unknown to me as I was still in my first year. I did some sketches and everyone praised me for my hard and creative work!! Here are few things I like to put in a list rather than explaining:

  1. Trips to Maheshwari along with rasam to get water motor for the fountain which was kept as an attraction in FD-II lawns and later purchased by pappuji
  2. Rathicol, a spoof of Fevicol, invented by me to cut off the expenses
  3. The hay which covered the roof of booth entirely brought by chary and rasam
  4. the bamboos and working in D-Lawns in the dim light of Artn D lights
  5. working with the hardest and sincere worker of all, chary
  6. working with the funniest creature, Ashwini (My dearest of all)
  7. Sarcastic jokes by harihar
  8. My night out @ 2206 for pot painting
  9. sarcastic and horror looks of Vicky
  10. abhishek’s plots and plans to hide the inventory in a secret place
  11. TejB’s creative work in making crowd pulling posters (the girl with guys sitting on her waist)
  12. Ashwini’s puerile jokes and funny expressions with funny language
  13. Mash’s sweetest voice
  14. the making of the structure (water falls) with fevicol hands with chaps, sravani, niharika, tulasi and bindu
  15. Rasam’s Head bang @ Dance floor
  16. the bow and arrow game judgement @ 3215
  17. Watching FD2 movie in 3215
  18. working with ulti cute mech senior(ashwini's batch mate, dont rememeber her name but seriously I had a crush on her..:P)
  19. Jyo's visit to 2206
  20. passing chap’s gift to surbhi and vice versa like a postman :P
  21. The bamboo booth
  22. playing different strokes in 2206
  23. the decoration of the booth with curtains
  24. CrAC events@ SKY
  25. winning 2nd prize in making garments out of paper along with Vicky
  26. the BIG panels, gridding and watching Vicky paint
  27. Pizza with ashwini
  28. My contribution of “leaves” in that panel
  29. visits to sai baba temple with jyothi

PS II - welcome to the professional world!

I am there, standing in FD3, right in front of PSD, collecting my PS diary which I have to fill during my PS2, which is going to last for the coming 1 year. People are quarrelling in the queue to take the diary and other paraphernalia as soon as possible and get out from there. The scorching sun and the sweat dripping from the head and crawling on the neck like some worm, drop by drop is a horrible scene to bear in the summers of Pilani. And this summer was no exception to that. Many doubts and apprehensions about PS2 were going on in everyone’s mind. And no doubt that PS2 is an opening into the professional world, and hence all the students were apprehensive of growing into professionals.

At last the day came when every one had to get registered for PS2. As a part of this, I went to the registration place equipped with all the necessary documents and completed my registration along with my one and only one PS mate, who happened to be a girl, fortunately sometimes but unfortunately most of the times!! Then we were instructed to go to the PS station and report there immediately. We followed the orders with out any secondary idea in mind.

Reached the PS station and were amazed to see the building from the outside. We came to the 4th floor in that same building and were shocked to the core to see glass walls and the brand name across the glass walls. It is an IT firm and that is the way it should be, it should come as no surprise to us, but since that was our first encounter with a professional world, we were little afraid but were surely more excited. We were made to fill the necessary documents and we were welcomed to the professional world officially by the senior officials.

It was so exciting on the first day, as it was a totally different milieu different from the campus. No attending classes, No tests, No tuts and No grades. I was very happy. But the actual scene started to appear before me, it’s actually a calm and silent place like BITS library, with people talking very rarely and that too in a very low voice. I could hear only the key board sounds and nothing else! May be it was due to the boredom caused by constant reading of the unknown material given to me as an introductory kit. The same scene continued for the 1st 1 week until I was given some challenge, which was a small test to test my knowledge and also to understand my self-learning capability. It was not an easy task, which is always the case in the beginning, but I could solve it before the dead line, which is again not any rare incident! : P.

The days are passing and I am getting accustomed to the environment here with out having any idea of the hurdles that are a part and parcel of everyone’s life. Thus I made an entry into the professional world!!

Hyderabd to Bangalore!

Everyone stopped talking, all of a sudden and turned to me with a glint in everyone's eyes. By all, I refer to my parents and sister! After a lot of discussion at home, everyone came to a unanimous decision of sending me to bangalore, for my PS-II, all alone. That was a terrifying decision, but I had no other way! I booked my tickets to Bangalore and waited for the day of journey to come. Finally the day came and I stepped into the train, met few friends on the way and in the train. The train to Bangalore started with a whistling sound and a thick smoke. The train was moving forward and away from my parents, sister and friends. I felt left out and all alone in the crowd, but the scene of luxury hotel suite, provided by company flashed before my eyes which out did my emotions.

Finally after a journey of 12hrs, the train reached Bangalore city junction, and I got a coolie to carry my luggage to the nearest prepaid taxi stand. Boarded into the auto and was dreaming about the suite. The hotel stood plumb in front of me when I heard the driver say, “Here is your hotel!”

I got down from the taxi and started walking towards the reception after paying the auto bill. The receptionist recognized me as a person who spoke to her regarding the confirmation about the suite last night and greeted me with a warm smile. Finally a helper boy took my luggage and guided me to the suite. He opened the door and it was there, awesome, beautiful and marvelous. I was spell bound until I got a call from my mom. The room was a perfect luxury suite enough spacious for 2 people, with a large mirror, a study table, a chair and a table in the corner with an ash-tray on it, a TV and an AC and many more.

The room was a real luxury room and there were 24hrs servants just at a phone call distance.

I was not alone in this room; my loneliness accompanied me all along and followed me where ever I went. I was missing my parents, sister and friends very badly. But I was helpless and it the way life throws obstacles at you. I have to face them and stand confidently or cross them with energy or confront them with bravery or just avoid them
I shifted from the company’s accommodation to my own accommodation which is nearer to my company comparatively. There added one more thing to my list of things to miss, the luxury suite! I always missed only the living beings till now but for the first time I started missing non living things too: the luxury!

Man gets accustomed to the luxuries and shares a strong bond with them and when separated, feels lonely and doubts his existence as a human itself. One should not get accustomed to luxuries though they have them at their finger tips or at an arms distance.
Man should always have his emotions and feelings under his control rather than emotions controlling him!!!

I am back!!

After a real hectic schedule of events in the end of my student life, I am left here, tired, updating my blog after a real long time! :)
Here we go.. keep cheking for my experiences and my new life as a software engineer, started on 4th of july, 2008. Also get back to share my experiences in bangalore!!:)
